Stella Mae Catlett

Stella Mae Catlett, 69, of White Post, Virginia, passed away, Sunday, May 16, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Catlett was born in 1941 in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of the late Forrest Grady and Mary Grady of White Post, Virginia. She was a homemaker, where she spent her time taking care of her grandchildren.

Her husband, Ralph Lee Catlett, whom she married in Hagerstown, Maryland, preceded her in death on September 16, 2005.

Surviving with her mother; are two children Yvonne D. Walton of White Post, Virginia and Herbert E. Cottrill of Winchester, Virginia; five stepchildren, Charles Catlett of Stephens City, Virginia, Lewis Catlett of Winchester, Virginia, John Catlett of Barney, Georgia, Sue Long of Memphis, Tennessee and Joy Cloninger of Wagner, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five sisters and five brothers. One sister and two brothers, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Eric Farrell officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Cottrill, Aaron Cottrill, Michael Dezarn, and Joseph Rodriguez.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

Aunt Stella was always the most direct, up front person I ever met. She would tell you like it was or as it should be in a heartbeat. I admired her for that & for her strength. She was a hard-working and loving woman. She showed so much courage when faced with a loss, but losing Uncle Ralph was a loss she was still dealing with.
