Mrs. Stella Christine Smeltzer Cooper, age 74, died Friday, October 28, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Cooper was born in 1937 in Little Washington, VA, the daughter of the late John and Delsie E. Smeltzer. She was a homemaker and attended Greenwood United Methodist Church.

She married Ray Oliver Cooper on April 10, 1959.

Surviving with her husband is a son David Cooper and his wife Debbie of Stephens City, VA; two grandchildren: Evelyn Brabson and husband Justin of Inwood, WV and Josh Cooper of Stephens City; one Great Grandson, Ryan Oliver Brabson; two sisters: Maxine Prather of Inwood, WV and Ruth Allamong and husband Charles of Greensprings, VA.

Three brothers, Charles, Bobby, and Johnny Smeltzer, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, with Reverend Jerry Weigel and Reverend Andy Brock officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
