Solange Renee Pantoja Turner, 33 of Winchester, Va, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home.

Born in 1990 in Winchester VA, Sole graduated from Millbrook High School in 2009 and furthered her studies at Lord Fairfax Community College. She was a bright, creative mind who received high grades, a talented competitive swimmer, and adored time spent in nature alongside her Basset hounds Beaux and Ellie. She attended Winchester Bible Church and was a member of the Rivendell Recovery Center as well as DAR. Sole’s greatest gift was her ability to spread immense love, to care for and make all creatures feel seen. Along with being a helping hand to her grandmother, this made her life’s most rewarding joy, being a mother to her two sons, come easily.

A natural giver, Sole always welcomed you in, while her addiction only took and isolated her. Those who knew her knew that was separate from the free-spirited person she was, but the result of an illness that’s taken so much from so many, and eventually took her life. We will remember her for how she lived, brightly and courageously, beautiful and gracious, loving and kind, full of hope and selflessness, with her thoughtful notes and sentimental gifts. Always giving back to her community and illuminating the many lives she touched, the name “Solange” translates to “sunshine” in French. While she’s passed on, the disease she fought remains prevalent. Maybe it’s hurting your friends, family, colleagues, the stranger next to you, or yourself. Let’s not let the accepting love that her light cast depart with her; we’re going to need it.

Sole is survived by her parents, Fernando Pantoja-Castillo and Mary Frances Turner; her sons, Liam Guy Surgent-Pantoja and Callan “Finn” Findley Surgent-Pantoja; brothers, Julian Andres Pantoja Turner, Lucas Guy Pantoja Turner; grandmother, Loretta Findley Turner and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the U.S. and Chile.

Sole is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde Lee Turner, Elzie Castillo and Gumercindo Lopez.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sole on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2 PM at What’s New Worship, 2249 Valor Drive, Winchester, VA. Pastor Bradley Hill will be officiating, with Fellowship following at the Rivendell Recovery Center.
