Shirley L. VanFossen, 75, of Stephens City, Virginia passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. VanFossen was born in 1942 in Frederick, Maryland, the daughter of the late Allen and Katherine VanFossen. She was a graduate of Walkersville High School in Maryland, Class of 1960. After high school graduation she was a beautician in Frederick, Maryland and after moving to the Winchester area was employed as a switchboard operator at JCPenney Department Store from where she retired. Ms. VanFossen was a member of Victory Church in Winchester.
Surviving is a daughter, Suzanne Trunnell and husband, Steve of Charles Town, West Virginia; grandchildren, Kayla and Jordan Trunnell of Charles Town, West Virginia; and brother, Mark VanFossen and wife, Ruth of Knoxville, Maryland.
Ms. VanFossen was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Myers and Eleanor Hodges; and former husband, Robert L. VanFossen.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
