Joe and family, Shirley was a dear member of the John Kerr family. During my grammar school years she taught me many things at John Kerr. I have many fond memories of Mrs. Pierce sweetly smiling and giving positive words of encouragement. I will always have a special place in my heart for Shirley Pierce.

It was such a pleasure talking to Shirley while we were at The Willows with Braddock Street Church when we were singing Christmas Carols. She came up to me in her wheelchair not knowing who I was and how much I knew Todd her son and Bob from when he worked at the office supply store. She thanked us for coming and singing and had the sweetest smile ! God got another Angel.
Theresa Hulver Gilbert left a message on February 20, 2017:
Fred Rogers once said, “If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet, or how important you can be to people you may never even dream of; there is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with every other person.” Aunt Shirley had this “light” that seemed to radiate from her like gentleness and love that made you just want to spend time with her. Many days over the past weeks I would slip up during the day and hold your hand and hope that you could feel a little of the peace and love that you have given me all my life. I will always love you and hold you in my heart. Theresa
