Shirley Bell Adams Jackson, 84, of Winchester, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Shirley was born in 1939 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Kenneth Rust and Mary Bell Adams. She was a proud graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1957. Shirley retired as a salesclerk at the Winchester Medical Center gift shop. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Lamps United Methodist Church. Shirley loved being outside and tending to her garden. She always looked forward to spending time at the Outer Banks and Apple Blossom. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael Jackson (Connie), Amy Sweet (JD), Steven Jackson (Janet); grandchildren, Matthew Sweet, Kristin Sweet, Kelby Jackson, Danukus Mumaw, Courtney Thompson and Quentin Jackson; great-grandchildren, Amelia Sweet, Camden Sweet, Cooper Thompson, Bodie Thompson; sister, Kaye Rush (Bill), brothers, Jimmy Adams (Pat) and Jerry Adams and sister-in-law, Barbara Adams.
Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her sister, Faye Carver and brother, Steve Adams.
A visitation will be held for Shirley on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 3pm to 7pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11am in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
