Shirley Ann Shifflett, 77, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Shifflett was born in 1941 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred Thompson. She worked for International Automotive Components in Strasburg, Virginia and attended Winchester Church of God. Mrs. Shifflett loved animals and would rescue dogs any chance she was given.
Surviving are daughters, Kathy Barron (Dale) and Sherri Stead (Mike); seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Shadda.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Edward Martin and her second husband, Troy Shifflett.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday at Old Stone Church Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to Winchester SPCA, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or to Linden Heights Animal Hospital, 274 Linden Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22601.

We are sorry for your loss. Shirley Ann (Skinny/Mal) will be missed by many. We hope that the family can find comfort by remembering the good memories. We can obtain hope and consolation by reading in the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 where it says “ He(God) will swallow up death forever…”. And we can gain strength at Revelation 21:4 where it says…”And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, …nor pain be anymore…” Continue to lean on friends, family and God.
