Shirley Ann Arnold, 79, of Dundalk, MD, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Arnold was born in Dunbar, VA in 1937, the daughter of the late Claude and Wilma Bradford. She worked as a machine operator for McCormick’s Spices. She was a member of Life in the River Church in Maryland. Before moving to Dundalk to be with her son, she and her husband were living in Berkeley Springs, WV. Raising her children and attending church were her passions and her life. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee on the computer and shopping.
Her husband, Ralph E. Arnold, whom she married on March 5, 1955, in Baltimore, MD, preceded her in death on August 8, 2007.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her two daughters, Melissa D. Alvarez (Angel), of Key West, FL and Pamela M. Arnold, of Richmond, VA; two sons, Daniel “Danny” Arnold, Sr. (Dorothy), of Edgewood, MD and Richard Arnold (Rosa), of Dundalk, MD; eleven grandchildren, Danny, Jr., Donald, Lauren, Dale, Kate, Glenn, Leticia, Dillon, Laura, Caroline, Olivia; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Greyson, Stacy, Scott, Rayna, Alex, Joshua, Aaron, Robin; sister, Kitty Hare, of Baltimore, MD; and brother, John Bradford (Pauline), of Glen Burnie, MD; and sister in law Pauline Bradford.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary G. Bradford; three sisters, Billie Ruth, Maureen Carter, Patricia Irene; five brothers, William Bradford, James Bradford, Charles Bradford, Larry Bradford, and Clifton Bradford; and granddaughter, Amanda Arnold.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Lee Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Arnold, Sr., Daniel Arnold, Jr., Lauren Arnold, Richard Arnold, Rosa Arnold, Dillon Arnold, and Pamela Arnold.
