Jennifer Skedsvold left a message on March 17, 2020:
I only just heard of Shelvy's passing yesterday and am so sad to hear it. I worked with Shelvy for many years and we shared so many fun times, little secrets and play dates together. Tanis, Jason & Dustin, you three were everything to your Mom and the mention of your names brought huge smiles to her face every day. She loved her entire family so much and was one of my role models when I began having my own family. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Such a loving and special celebration of life service today for Shelby. All of your friends at Blue Ridge Vol Fire Co extend condolences and send loving thought and prayers during this difficult time. Love the smiles in the video, it shows her deep love and devotion to her family so well. Beautifully done! Jason, you look so much like Max when he was younger, and Tanis, you look like your Mom! We enjoyed Shelby and Jason’s help in the kitchen at Blue Ridge working refund raising events and supporting the hard work of keeping the fire trucks and squad going. Memories! Shelby was a special lady and fiend. We will keep her in our memories and hearts. Prayers to you all as you find a new normal without her smile and joy with you daily. Know that she is with you always in little ways and watching over you until you meet again in God’s Garden. Your friends and Neighbors at Blue Ridge.

My deepest sympathy to all of Shelvy's family. Our friendship goes all the way back to grade school and our little neighborhood of Albin. We graduated together at JW and in later years reconnected at our local trail ride dinners with Mr. and Mrs. Dyke. Tanis and my son, Adrian, were about the same age. She was such a great person. R.I.P.
