Scott John Dowell, 56, of Clear Brook, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his home with his loving wife Teri and beloved pets Winston and Hadji by his side.
Scott was born in 1961 in Arlington, Virginia, the son of the late Troy and Myrtle Dowell. He graduated from Walden University earning his Undergraduate degree in Business Administration.
Scott married Teresa Cantu Shirnia on April 5, 1996 in Miami, Florida. The devoted couple spent most of their life together in Carlsbad, CA.
Surviving with his wife of 21 years are sisters and brother, Nancy Dowell-Creel (Bobby) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Connie Dowell-Hutson of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; and Skip Dowell of Shelby, North Carolina. Scott also left behind beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Scott was a witty, kind, spiritual, and sincere man. He was joyful and loved life. He fought bravely to defeat cancer hoping until the end for a miracle.
Services to celebrate Scott’s life will be held in Clear Brook, VA and in Carlsbad, CA at later dates. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
