Savannah Paige “Savvy” Burleson, 20, of Winchester, VA passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020.

Savannah was born in 2000, daughter of David J. Burleson, Jr. of Winchester, VA and Robin A. Stevens of Ranson, WV; stepdaughter of Cassandra A. Burleson of Winchester, VA. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 2018, and worked at Macy’s Distribution Center in Martinsburg, WV. Savvy enjoyed playing softball, listening to music, was a remarkable singer, and carried a soft spot in her heart for all animals. She loved being with her family and friends.

Surviving with her parents and stepmother is a sister, Whitney E. Burleson of Winchester, VA and her grandparents, Jack and Sarah Burleson of Martinsburg, WV.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Savvy’s memory to a local animal shelter of donor’s choice.

Savannah!! I have soo much to say, I dont even know where to start! Savannah has been in my life for over 5 years! I met Savannah in High school! I will never forget how we met! She was soo kind to invite me to sit next to her on the bus because the bus was packed! Ever since that day, Savannah and I spent many days hanging out and getting to know each other. Savannah got to meet my family (which only a few of my friends get to do), stay the night at my house, I got to stay the night at her house, etc. Savannah supported me at my graduation because I was a year or 2 ahead of her! She was there through it all! I'm currently 22 years old and to think Savannah and I were still great friends. I know she struggled with her mental health and some personal things in her life. It's soo very sad. I love her soo much and I just wish this was a terrible nightmare! I just want to let Savannah and her family know how much you and her means to me and how grateful I am to have had such an amazing best friend! I may not know all of her family, but I'm always here for every single one of you! Robin, as always you know if there is ANYTHING I can ever do for you and your family, please let me know!
