Joyce Umbenour left a message on November 3, 2018:
Having known Betty for many years from the post office, I have been so blessed that our paths crossed again, and that I was able to be one of her caregivers for the past several months. She was a remarkable lady. Even though she will be missed she is whole again. Prayers for her family.

What a pair she and (brother) Donald were and how close they were and passed away in months of each other. My husband and I used to see them out eating a lot together and really got to know both of them. We have know both of them for years and were there for her accident at Cedar Creek Grade. And got her out of her car and into our vehicle until family "BIG AL" could get there. What a sweet lady she was and what a character Donald was. They both will be missed. May God hold each of you in the palm of his hands in the days ahead.
Patricia Bowers left a message on October 31, 2018:
A very special lady and a good friend has gone on to a better place. We shared many good times at Apple Blossom events and Shenandoah plays as well as Redskin football games. Will miss her very much.
