Sara Cline “Betty” Affleck, 94, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at her home.

Mrs. Affleck was born in 1924 in Clear Brook, Virginia, the daughter of the late Henry B. and Virginia M. Cline. She retired as Postmaster at Clear Brook Post Office. Mrs. Affleck was a member of TOPS, where she served as Treasurer. She was also a member and treasurer of Country Club bowling league. Mrs. Affleck was a member of Clear Brook Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death was husband, Daniel O. Affleck and her brothers, Henry M. and Donald S. Cline.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Rev. Steve Melester officiating. Interment in Bunker Hill Cemetery will be private.

Serving as pallbearers will be William H. Cline, Robert M. Cline, John D. Cline, Thomas F. Price, Timothy M. Cline, and William H. Price.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Supinger, Tom Dickinson, Dr. Robert G. Kendall, Bill English, Richard Coulson, and Eddie Grim.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Highland Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1762, Winchester, Virginia 22604.

Having known Betty for many years from the post office, I have been so blessed that our paths crossed again, and that I was able to be one of her caregivers for the past several months. She was a remarkable lady. Even though she will be missed she is whole again. Prayers for her family.

What a pair she and (brother) Donald were and how close they were and passed away in months of each other. My husband and I used to see them out eating a lot together and really got to know both of them. We have know both of them for years and were there for her accident at Cedar Creek Grade. And got her out of her car and into our vehicle until family "BIG AL" could get there.What a sweet lady she was and what a character Donald was. They both will be missed. May God hold each of you in the palm of his hands in the days ahead.
