Sandra Spielman Glover, 77 of Stephens City, Virginia passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Winchester Medical Center.
Sandra was born in 1943 in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Chester D. Spielman and the late Marie Bell Spielman. Sandra was a graduate of Handley High School and she retired from Frederick County Public Schools, where she was employed as an Office Administrator for over 30 years. As a pillar in the FCPS system, she was always there for the children, parents, staff and friends she worked with.
Sandy served the Lord as a member of Market Street UMC for over 60 years. She coordinated Marie’s Country Kitchen, and several fundraising activities including; sub sales, monthly dinners, cake walks, cookie exchanges, and feeding the homeless through the WATTS Program with her family.
Sandra married Charles L. Glover in 1963 in Winchester, Virginia.
Along with serving the Lord, she faithfully served her family. She lived her life by giving the most unconditional love to her family. Surviving with her husband, Charles are daughters, Anita Glover Helmick, (Brian Kenney) and Kelly Glover Boyd, (Scott); grandchildren, Cullen Helmick, Dalton Boyd, Savana (Boyd) Cook, (Brady), Hunter Helmick and Gracie Lynn Boyd; great grandchild, Keller Boyd Cook; god daughters, Diana and Josie Messercola; sister, Juanita Adams, (Gary); brother, Chester “Chetty” Spielman, (Missy); her dearest friends Lee and Pat Turner and Karen Hinkle (the late Dennis); she is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will be holding a drive-thru Celebration of Life to honor Sandra on December 19th from 1 pm to 4 pm at 1240 Laurel Grove Rd. Winchester, VA 22602. Please join the family from the safety of your car to send your love to Charlie, you will not need to get out. Please bring photos/memories that can be added to a memory tree.
Services are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, and will be held at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Sandra’s memory to a scholarship fund for high school athletes who are pursing careers in public education. Checks should be made out to The Sandra (Spielman) Glover scholarship fund and sent directly to Omps Funeral Home.
