Samuel “Sam” Lee Garber, 67, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, October 30, 2017, at his home surrounded by family.
Sam was born in 1950 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late James and Lillian Deavers Garber. He graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1968. Sam was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the Army National Guard and a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge. He was a driver/salesman with Garber’s Ice Cream, retiring in 2014. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother that is loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Sam married Dianne Lynn Strosnider on September 17, 1976 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his loving wife of 41 years is a daughter, Shannon Garber Conner (Mark) and son, Samuel Chad Garber (Lindsey) all of Stephens City, Virginia; grandchildren, Blake Evelyn Conner, Owen Patrick, Aiden Carson, and Brycen Lane Garber all of Stephens City, Virginia; and sister, Constance Nethers of Winchester, Virginia.
At Sam’s request all services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
