Samuel Graham Lehman, 78, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in his home.
Mr. Lehman was born June 8, 1931, in Wilkinsburg, PA, the son of the Lyle Graham and Grace Lehman. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland and owned several defense contracting businesses, before retiring in 1970 to Frederick County. He was a baseball player and organized several baseball leagues in Washington, DC. He was a former Boy Scout Scoutmaster and hosted local scout groups at his Wind in the Willows property. Mr. Lehman was involved in numerous community organizations including Frederick County Tax Payers Assn. (former president), the Opequon Watershed, Save the Water, and Citizens for a Quality Community. He was the editor of The Story of Frederick County.
He married Priscilla Beth Sullivan on November 9, 1964, in Rockville, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife, is his daughter, Joy Grace McGlasson and her husband, Jamie and their children, Malcolm and Ainsley of Haymarket, Virginia; his son, Whitney M. Lehman and his wife, Beth, and their children, Eliza and Jonas of Frederick County, Virginia.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
