Sally H. Taylor
Sally Higgins Taylor, wife of Cortlandt M. Taylor, USAF Colonel Retired, died March 9, 2011, at her home. She was the daughter of the late George T. Higgins and Flora Pfirman Higgins of St. Louis. Missouri. Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Higgins Davis of New Braunfels, Texas and Catherine Higgins Stocker of McAllen, Texas. Mrs. Taylor graduated from Our Lady of the Lake High School in San Antonio, Texas, attended Our Lady of the Lake College and graduated from Texas College of Arts and Industries in Kingsville, Texas. She earned a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus and spent her career working in special libraries in Washington, D.C. and as the librarian for Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison and Tate in San Antonio, Texas from which she retired in 2001.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of the home, her son Andrew Curzon Taylor, San Antonio, Texas, her daughter Anne Taylor Remley of Winchester, Virginia and six grandchildren, Luke Taylor Remley, Los Angeles California, Alyson Oak Taylor of Lubbock, Texas, Aron Cortlandt Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, Bryce Richard Remley of Winchester, Virginia, Austin Paul Taylor, San Antonio, Texas and Sophia Ann Remley of Winchester, Virginia
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, Virginia with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donation to the sent to The Hematology Division, Department of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, Traylor Building, Room 924, Baltimore, Maryland, 21205.
