Ryan Forsyth Scott, 60, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Born on January 28, 1963, in New York, he was the son of Nancy B. Forsyth Scott McBride and the late Robert William Scott.
Ryan was a man of many talents and passions. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the Dick Grove School of Music, showcasing his incredible musical abilities. He served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran. In his professional life, he found fulfillment as a skilled carpenter, leaving a lasting mark with his craftsmanship.
Ryan attended the First Christian Church of Winchester. His faith played a central role in his life. At the church, he supported his wife Stacy in her various roles, always ready to be her “assistant” in the church’s activities. His warmth and genuine care extended to the children of the church, where he became a beloved figure known for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need.
Ryan’s family meant everything to him, and he cherished the moments spent with his loved ones. Known for his calm, patient, and forgiving nature, he made it a priority to empathize with others, always seeking to understand their perspectives and provide support whenever possible.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Nancy, and stepfather, Scott; his beloved wife, Stacy, whom he married on October 1, 2011; his son, Marcus Scott; sister, Jennifer Scott; brother, Robert Scott; half-sister, Amber Scott; his father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Dolly Atkins; sister-in-law, Stephani Atkins; and brother-in-law, Jerome Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ryan to First Christian Church, 75 Merrimans Lane, Winchester, VA 22601 or Winchester Rescue Mission, 435 N. Cameron Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
Services and interment will be private, honoring the memory of a man who touched the lives of many.
