Ruth was my first friend and such a welcoming person when we moved to a new town, Winchester. Her total acceptance of me with such a heavy German accent and a little daughter, Astrid who picked ALL of her carefully planted flowers just 2 weeks after our arrival, developed into a deep friendship for many years. I missed her after both our moves to different locations. I wish we could have grown old together. Annegret Kilby
