Russell L. Kerns, 89 of Bunker Hill, WV passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Russell was born in 1932 in Frederick County, Virginia to the late John and Virginia Renner Kerns. Russell served in the Korean Conflict for the United States Navy where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Medal for his service. He worked and retired as Lead Man for Crown, Cork and Seal, Inc and was a life member of the Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad, and past member of the Winchester Eagles and the Winchester Moose.
Russell married Sharon E. Gladden on May 17, 1980 in Berkeley County, WV and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2009.
Russell is survived by his children Donna M. Noe, Laura A. Allen (Douglas) and William D. Radcliff; grandchildren, Rachel, Brian, Dougie, Chance and Dakota; great grandchildren; sister, Clara Lucille Baker; brothers, Douglas L., Donald R, Nathan W. and Bobby E. Kerns.
In addition to his parents and wife, Russell was preceded in death by his son, Christopher S. Kerns; sister, Carol A. Ricketts and brothers, Clifton L. and William M. Kerns
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday from 1pm until his Funeral Service at 2:30pm at the Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be Private.
