Ruby O. Morris

                Ruby Irene Oates Morris, age 93 of Winchester, Virginia, died on March 27, 2014 in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Morris was born in 1920, in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Clement and Elfie Parrill Oates. She was employed by National Fruit and then by General Electric where she retired from in 1986, as well as a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Winchester Church of God.

Her husband, Talmadge Elwood Morris whom she married on June 15, 1938 in Winchester, Virginia, preceded her in death on July 1, 1993.

Surviving are her son, Philip Morris of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two sisters, Margel Hawkins of Stephens City, VA and Ida Mae Pugh of Woodstock, VA.

Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Morris, three brothers, Roger Oates, Maurice Oates, and Darrell Oates; and a sister, Opal Hall.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
