Ruby B. Homer
Ruby Baker Homer, age 74, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Homer was born in 1939 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of Byron Earl and Helen Virginia Baker. She worked at Carper’s Valley Golf Club and then Loudoun Golf and Country Club from which she retired. She was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughters: Pamela Denise Lipscomb and husband, Mark of Winchester, Virginia, and Missy Miller and husband, Roger of Strasburg, Virginia; sons Rick Homer and wife, Brenda, and Ronnie Homer, son-in-law, Greg Barbour all of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren: Krista Blakely and husband, Taylor, Katelynn Homer and fiancé, Jake Park, Brian Lipscomb, J. W. and Jonathon Homer, Beth Baker and husband, Jim, Charity Barbour, Jacob and Maggie Miller; two great grandchildren: Lucas Baker and Jacqson Barbour, and brother, Glenwood Baker.
She was preceded in death by daughter Jacqulyn Sue (JC) Carter, granddaughter Tara Homer, and brother Kenneth Baker.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Aaron Fitch officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Barbour, J. W. Homer, Jonathon Homer, Brian Lipscomb, Jacob Miller, Jim Baker and Taylor Blakely.
