Mrs. Rosemma Augusta Patton, 98, of Winchester, Virginia passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Patton was born in 1918 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clifton and Lottie Grimm. Rosemma was many things throughout her life including a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for many years. She did work in various positions as well including a beautician and caregiver working and retiring from Welcome Haven Nursing Home. She was passionate about her faith being a longtime member of the United Methodist Church here in Winchester. Rosemma known as “Rosie” by many people will be forever remembered for her many talents including the arts, crafts, decorating for the various seasons and of course her love of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband, Franklin H. Patton, Sr., whom she married on January 12, 1937 in Winchester, Virginia preceded her in death in July 26, 1993.
Surviving is a daughter, Sylvia Owens of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Frank Patton and wife, Connie of Winchester, Virginia and Clifton Patton also of Winchester, Virginia; sister, Elmodyne G. Childs of Berryville, Virginia; five grandchildren; Kelly Lidard and her husband Tracy of Stephens City, Virginia, Stacy Jenkins of Inwood, West Virginia, Julie Smith of Winchester, Virignia, Amy Rogers and her husband Aaron of Winchester, Virginia and Christine Partlow and her husband Michael of Winchester, Virginia; twelve great grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by a grandchild, Monte D. Conner, II and brothers, Hunter and Burnwood Grimm.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at Mount Hebron Cemetery with Pastor Peter Ford officiating.
