Rosebud (Penwell) Turner, 84, of Ranson, West Virginia died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Mrs. Turner was born in 1931, in Jefferson County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lucy L. (Oden) and John H. Penwell. She was employed as a housekeeper with the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, retiring in 1996. Mrs. Turner was a member of Moose Lodge 1028 in Ranson and a social member of the VFW and the American Legion in Charlestown, West Virginia.
She married Melvin T. Turner on May 18, 2004 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her friend/companion and husband, Melvin, of 40 years, is her daughter, Rose Marie Frawley and husband, Edward; grandchildren, Michael Chandler (Yuli), Amy Ballenger (William), great grandchildren, Chandler and Anna Ballenger; and her sister, Dorothy Cornwell.
Two sisters, Hilda Dillow, Evelyn Potts and two brothers, Nelson “Buddy” Penwell and John Paul Penwell, preceded her in death.
A Memorial service will be conducted from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the American Legion on Main Street in Charles Town, West Virginia. Dr. Christie will be officiating.
