Ronald Lee “Ron” Sage, 78, of Frederick County, VA passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his home.

Ron was born in 1942 in Monterville, WV, son of the late Glen and Lou Sage. He was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School, Mill Creek, WV. Ron was a Contract Specialist for US Geological Survey, retiring after 32 years of Government service. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Winchester, VA. Ron was a faithful servant and witness for the Lord. He pastored at Crossroads Baptist Church in Leesburg, VA, as well as ministering at the Loudoun County Detention Center. In his younger years he loved to water ski and play baseball. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing at Elk River, WV. Ron was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and dutiful provider to his family. His passing will leave a void in many a hearts and he will be missed by many people.

Ron married Nancy Jane Dneaster on January 18, 1964 in Winchester, VA.

Surviving with his beloved wife is a daughter, Kimberly Ann Hoke (Kevin) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Kaelin Sage Soto of Sydney, Australia and Carlos Ronald Soto of Leesburg, VA; great-grandson, Layton Walker of Winchester, VA.

Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Ambrose Sage.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

My wife and I enjoyed apple pecan salad with Ron and his wife at the Leesburg Bob Evans. He was so kind and always looking for ministry opportunities to share Christ with others. He will be missed.

My husband Jeremy worked with Ron at Tractor Supply for years... not only did Ron talk to Jeremy about Jesus, but He also baptized him. Ron has always held a very special place in our hearts, and I am saddened to read of his passing. Thankful for the promise of Eternity, and I know Ron is there now and waiting for his family patiently! My heartfelt condolences to everyone. May you continue to feel the comfort of God’s promises... now and always.

Ms. Nancy & Kim, I am so Sadden to hear of Mr. Sage's passing. He was truly a man of God that won many souls for Christ; Great is his reward in heaven! I have many fond memories of him at USGS; always a man of faith & integrity. My prayers for you all in the days ahead!

Nancy, You probably won't remember me, but I've known Ron almost 50 years. We met you both at Huberts 4th of July event a few years ago. I met Ron through my ex who worked with Ron at Geological Survey back in 1972. I always like Ron, he was a very decent and dedicated man. I know he will be missed greatly by family and friends. Nancy, I grew up with Ronnie and we went to school at Tygart Valley. He was a grade or two ahead of me but we talked all the time. His mom and dad and brother Earl were all good people. I loved to fish for big brown trout on Elk River where Ronnie lived. Ronnie was always a good friend and treated everyone with dignity and respect. I was invited to hear him preach in Leesburg. I met Ron at the Loudoun ADC visitation when I worked at the Loudoun Public Defender. I know my clients always looked forward to the visits and studies with "Pastor Ron." It is a special person who shares the message with those who are at the lowest point in their lives. He will be missed.
