Ronald L. Morris
Ronald L. Morris, 63, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, after a gallant battle with cancer.
Mr. Morris was born in 1946, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Ruby O. Morris and the late Talmadge Morris. He was a graduate of John Handley High School, Class of 1964. He enlisted in the United States Air force and completed a tour in Vietnam. Upon his return he continued his education at the University of South Florida where he received an Associate Degree in Design Engineering and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. His professional career was established with Honeywell Aerospace in Florida. He returned to Winchester and worked for VDO Instruments for sixteen years. His most recent career opportunity led him to Thermo Fisher Scientific Located in Marietta, Ohio.
Mr. Morris was a member of Victory Assembly of God in Mineral Wells, West Virginia and Winchester Church of God in Winchester, Virginia.
Ron’s passion for living life to it’s fullest included spending quality time with his family, the ministry of servant with the Christian Motorcycle Association, hunting, golfing and his dearest friends.
He married Sherry Chambers Morris on December 5, 1992, in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his mother and his wife, are two daughters Lora Beth Braithwaite, Rachelle Nichole Morris; son, Joseph Talmadge Morris; three grandchildren, Emma Marie Morris, Justice Rae Morris and Lila Kate Morris; and brother, Philip R. Morris.
He is proceeded in death by his father, three children, Ronald Lee Morris II, Jacqueline Kate Morris, and Tierra Hope Morris.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Ken Boone officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia, with Military Honors afforded by VFW Post 2123.
Pallbearers will be Darin Jobe, Tyler Jobe, Leonard Renner, Edward Edens, Joseph Morris and Justin Jobe. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Jobe and Thomas Smith.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
