Ronald Louis Burger, 69, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on October 13, 2022, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
Mr. Burger was born in 1952, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Doris M. and Raymond C. Burger. He was passionate about his job as a Microelectronic Engineer in Burbank, CA retiring after 34 years of service with CRANE Hydro-Aire Division in CA. Ron was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of SGT. While in the Air Force he worked on the SR 71 Blackbird.
Above all else, he always put his loving wife Marguerite first, and he adored his children and grandchildren. He took pride in his friendships and enjoyed shooting and taking long motorcycle rides with them. Ron was known for his contagious smile and sense of humor.
Ron was a “renaissance man”. He enjoyed taking care of his property with his Kubota “Digger” mower. Ron was an avid camper and loved RVing, BBQing, and playing corn-hole. He was a dart champion and excelled at playing pool.
Ron and Marguerite were married on July 22, 2000, in La Canada, CA. He was affectionately known to her as “Burgie”.
Surviving with his wife is daughter, Sarah Combs (Brandon) of Winchester, VA; son Paul A. Helm II (Amber) of Colorado Springs Co; grandchildren, Katherine Combs, Alexandra Combs, Ethan Helm and Alexander Helm.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Burger.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be conducted on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Donnie Moulden.
