Ronald Louis Burger, 69, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away on October 13, 2022, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.

Mr. Burger was born in 1952, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Doris M. and Raymond C. Burger. He was passionate about his job as a Microelectronic Engineer in Burbank, CA retiring after 34 years of service with CRANE Hydro-Aire Division in CA. Ron was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of SGT. While in the Air Force he worked on the SR 71 Blackbird.

Above all else, he always put his loving wife Marguerite first, and he adored his children and grandchildren. He took pride in his friendships and enjoyed shooting and taking long motorcycle rides with them. Ron was known for his contagious smile and sense of humor.

Ron was a “renaissance man”. He enjoyed taking care of his property with his Kubota “Digger” mower. Ron was an avid camper and loved RVing, BBQing, and playing corn-hole. He was a dart champion and excelled at playing pool.

Ron and Marguerite were married on July 22, 2000, in La Canada, CA. He was affectionately known to her as “Burgie”.

Surviving with his wife is daughter, Sarah Combs (Brandon) of Winchester, VA; son Paul A. Helm II (Amber) of Colorado Springs Co; grandchildren, Katherine Combs, Alexandra Combs, Ethan Helm and Alexander Helm.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Burger.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be conducted on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Donnie Moulden.

I am lost without you my love. You were my world, my life, my eternal love.

We miss you.

Deepest sympathy to the Burger family. It was an honor to care for Mr. Burger during his time of need. I was truly devastated to hear of his unexpected passing. I will never forget you Mr. Burger, or your sweet wife. May you rest in peace.

Marguerite, and family My Name is Joe Warner, I was a childhood friend of your husband Ronnie. We grew up together in Morton's Corners outside Springville NY. We played baseball, basketball, pool (even beat him at pool a few times) during our younger days. Drove around in his old 58' Chevy. Went to high school together. Pretty much hung out together a lot , Lost track of him after HS glad to hear that everything turned out so well for him. I heard he was sick from his cousin Debbie Perry (my HS classmate). Our hearts are so saddened by this loss. Uncle Ron was a wonderful person and a blessing to our family. We will always remember him as a loving and gentle husband, father, and role model.
