Ronald Howard Long, Sr.

Ronald Howard Long, Sr., 53, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Friday, August 2, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Long was born in 1960, in Manassas, Virginia, the son of Roy H. and Eleanor Long of Palm Coast, Florida. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia, Class of 1978. Mr. Long was a Missile Technician with ARC (Atlantic Research Corporation). He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester.

He married Brenda Cox on June 6, 1981, in Manassas, Virginia.

Surviving with his parents and wife is his son, Ronald Howard Long, II of Winchester; sister, Linda Curtis and husband, Mike, of Manassas, Virginia; brothers, Roy H. Long and wife, Dorothy, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Robert H. Long of Winder, Georgia; and his dogs, Trooper and Rocky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

I'm so sorry we couldn't have more time with Ron. I guess God needed him for something else. I know God was please with his life here. I am so very proud of him and how much he cared about you, Brenda and Ronnie. He fought so hard to try to stay with us. All I can think of, is Scott was there to great him and he's showing him around. I know Ronald is safe with God being happy, healthy and feeling no more pain. Praying God continues his blessing to Brenda and Ronnie in what ever the future holds.

We are so sorry that you have lost Ronald. We have continously had you and the family covered in prayers. We know that he is rejoicing in Heaven with our LORD. Remember your peace and comfort comes from GOD Our Father. Sending Prayers & Blessings your way! Always

I am so sorry for your loss. I know I didn't get to spend very much time with Ron but what time we spend together was quality time. I liked him very much. I prayed so hard that God would heal him but I guess he had other plans and called him home too soon for all of us. I know that Ron is heaven now with no more pain and suffering. I pray that God will give you Brenda and Ronnie and all your family strength to pull you through this time of loss but also peace in knowing that you will meet with him again one day.

Dear Brenda, I was so shocked when I heard your husband passed away. I really hadn't been into the store for a few weeks. I am so very sorry. I pray for you and your son to find some comfort in knowing that Ron is now resting comfortably in the loving arms of our Lord. Again, my deepest sympathy in the lost of your husband. May he rest in peace. Amen
