Ronald Clee “Ron” Dishong.
Ronald Clee ”Ron” Dishong, 63, of Winchester, passed away April 10, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Laura Sheets and Dwayne Young.
Mr. Dishong was born in 1946, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late John H. and Ethel I. Dishong and seven siblings. He was a truck driver for Anderson Trucking Service. Mr. Dishong was a Veteran having served two terms in Vietnam in the United States Army.
He married Elizabeth Szerokman in Tucson, Arizona.
Surviving with his wife of 41 years are two daughters, Laura Sheets and her significant other, Dwayne Young, of Winchester, Melissa Wright and husband, Jason, of Winchester; two sons, Ronald Dishong II and wife, Melissa, Scott Dishong; seven granddaughters, Renee, Jackie, Katherine, Larissa, Amber, Sabrina and Jessica; two great granddaughters, Hailee and Autumn, all of Winchester, Virginia; two sisters, Norita Jordan of Canton, Ohio, Jacqueline Yellin of California; his brother, Charles Dishong of Virginia; and fifteen nephews and nineteen nieces.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Bobbie Parrish; sisters-in-law and brother-in-laws; Priscilla and Gary Carpenter; Ron Szerokman; Marie Kulisek and Deborah Beightol all of Ohio.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, at 2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in the Veteran Park at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia. Following the services the family will gather at Dwayne Young and daughter, Laura Sheets home, 204 Massie Drive, Winchester, Virginia 22602.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Young, Jason Wright, Jason Dishong, Quinton Werdenbough, Brandon Werdenbough and Tim Carter.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
