Roger “RJ” Earl Johnson

Roger “RJ” Earl Johnson, 70, of Highview, West Virginia passed Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
RJ was born in 1946 in West Virginia, the son of the late Charles T. and Duella B. Johnson. He retired from Arlington Fire and Rescue in Arlington, Virginia where he was a Maintenance Chief. RJ was a member of the Front Royal VFW, he was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam era. RJ was of the Methodist faith.
RJ married Carolyn F. Wisecarver on May 29, 1995 in Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Cathy D. Golliday and husband, Brian and Becky Welsh and husband, David; sons, Randall L. Johnson and wife, Wendy and Timothy E. Johnson; grandchildren, Caitlin Heishman, Derek Welsh, Benjamin Welsh, Sabrina Golliday, William Golliday, Logan Johnson, and Zach Johnson; great grandchildren, Stella G. Heishman, Madeline L. Pitts and one on the way, Baby Nugget.
RJ was preceded in death by his brother, “Tinker”.
All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
