Robin Pitcock Spence, 71, of Frederick County, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Robin was born in 1954 in Winchester, VA, daughter of the late William and Helen Pitcock. She was a graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1972 and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Shenandoah University. Robin was a Registered Nurse at Winchester Medical Center for 37 years, retiring in 2019 to stay home and care for her husband. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd as well as Little Mountain Church and was an avid reader. Robin enjoyed spending time by her pool with her canine companions, Cuda and Ollie. She loved going to the lake with her late husband, Jimmy, and enjoyed racing, especially watching her son, JT, race. Robin was an Amazon and HSN shopper and an avid CNN watcher. She loved her family deeply, especially watching her granddaughter, Ashlynn, play volleyball, and loved her animals.
Her husband, James T. Spence, whom she married on July 11, 1974 in Winchester, VA, preceded her in death in 2020.
Surviving is a daughter, Jamie Patricia Spence (Mike Newlin) and a son, James Thomas “JT” Spence, II (Kelli) both of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Mykaela Peacoe (Isaiah), Aidan Spence, Ashlynn Spence, Jaelyn Spence, and Mikah Newlin all of Winchester, VA; nephew, Jimmy McFarland (Jessica) of Winchester, VA; sister, Pamela Nagley (Gale) of FL; canine companions, Cuda and Ollie; feline companion, Gracie; and her feathered friend, Buster.
Along with her parents and husband, Robin was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Hott.
A visitation will be from 3 pm to 4 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a service to follow at 4 pm. Pastor Vernon Bray will officiate. Following the service all are invited for a time of fellowship and remembrance at the American Legion Post 21, 1730 Berryville Pike, Winchester, VA.
