Was very sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. He was a much better friend to me than I was to him, especially lately. I always meant to stop by to visit when I would hear of someone we both knew when we were at Perry Engineering. I just never made the time, something I will always regret. He had many friends and I was very lucky to be one of them. I don't know of anyone who ever had a bad word for Bobby Bowers. No matter where he went he always knew someone, or they knew him. He had some great stories, especially about JP and what a great judge of timber he was. What a character. Bobby had a great family. They invited Sandy, Amy and me to spend a week at the Outer Banks with them in the Lamplighter Cottages in Kill Devil Hills back in 1978 - our first time there, and we've been going back to the Outer Banks pretty much every year since. There's much more I could say but this is getting pretty wordy. Suffice it to say Bobby was a great friend who was always willing to help you anyway he could. He will be missed.

You and your family are in our thoughts at this difficult time. I got to know Bobby while working at Perry Engineering. Little did I know at the time that I would soon meet the woman that he was about to marry when I started working at Old Dominion Savings & Loan! A true gentleman. Joan and Bobby Aylor
