Robert “Bob” VJ Haggerty, age 89, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Bob was born on June 26, 1937, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Francis VJ Haggerty and Sarah (Wyatt) Haggerty. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force from January 1956 to January 1962. Following his military service, Bob enjoyed a long, successful career as an industrial engineer in the concrete and asphalt industries, working across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Colorado, and Illinois prior to his retirement.

A devout faith was central to Bob’s life, and he was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. Above all else, Bob had a passion for aviation and loved to fly—a trait that mirrored his adventurous spirit and joy for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Annette H. Haggerty (Hildebrand), with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this coming October. He is also survived by his daughters, Beth Ann Rogers (Stan) and Annette Dion (Kevin); seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his brothers, John Haggerty and his wife, Mimi and Philip Haggerty and his wife, Christine.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Robertson, and his brother, William Haggerty.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Monday, Septenmber 21, 2026 at 11am with Father Vaccaro officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date.
