Robert Paul Wagner, 81, of Lake Frederick, Virginia, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Blue Ridge Hospice surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Paul and Naomi Wagner. He graduated from Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania, served two years in the United States Army, and graduated from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Constance Wagner; sons, David, Matthew and Daniel; daughters-in-law Wenda, Kumiko, and Jill; grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, John, Ben, and Emma; sister, Rose Marie; and brother, Don.
Virginia became his adopted state for more than 40 years, living in Reston for 22 years, Lake Anna in Spotsylvania County for 13 years and finally Lake Frederick for the past nine years.
Robert became a programmer for RCA in 1960 and spent his career in the computer industry with his last 28 years at the CIA, retiring as a member of the Senior Intelligence Service (SIS).
Robert was very proud of his service in the Unites States Military and will be buried at Culpeper National Cemetery. The graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Culpeper National Cemetery, 305 US Ave., Culpeper, Virginia, 22701, with Reverend Kenneth Patrick officiating.
A reception will follow the interment at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia, 22601.
