Robert Lee Frye (Bob), 84, died peacefully at home in Winchester on April 18, 2018, after a long illness. Robert was born in 1934 in Lovettsville, Virginia, the son of the late Russell and Mary Frye. Robert worked for United Airlines for 31 years, retiring on March 1, 1994. In his retirement, he relished the slow pace of life and enjoying his family, traveling, particularly visits to the Outer Banks and Arizona, and watching baseball. He also enjoyed the fellowship of the many friends in his neighborhood and maintaining connections with friends he worked with at United Airlines. He was a member of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lovettsville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, M. Dianne Frye, sons Robert Lee Frye Jr. and wife Karen, Dwayne Frye and wife Sharon, and Rick Frye, sisters Joyce Hoopengardner and Helen Keister. He is preceded in death by his brother James Frye. He leaves behind six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA, 22601 from 10-11 am. A funeral service will follow at 11 am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with The Reverend Cynthia Baskin officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery at 12930 Lutheran Church Rd, Lovettsville, VA, 20180, on the same day at 2 pm.
