Robert Lee Kidd, Sr., age 68, of Louisa Virginia, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia.

            Bob was born in 1947, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late William and Pauline Kidd.  He worked as a salesman for Blue Green Resorts prior to his retirement in 2005.  He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy. Robert was an active member of the American Legion Post # 74, Disabled Veterans of America Post # 33 as well as the Moose Lodge Post # 1028 all of Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a loving father, grandfather, companion and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Kidd, Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Michael Kidd, all of Winchester, Virginia; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren as well as a long term companion of 25 years Susie Altman. 

            Bob’s son, Ryan and his brother, William “Bill” Kidd, preceded him in death.

            The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

            A Memorial service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Chuck Doughty officiating.
