Robert Jospeh Stiefel, Sr., passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his home.
Bob was born in 1939 in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Robert and Alma Stiefel. He was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Queens, NY and attended Arundel Community College and Lord Fairfax Community College taking various computer classes. He retired as the Program Director for Printing and Procurement for the Department of Energy. Bob was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was a 3rd degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also belonged to the Italian Group and Senior Group at Sacred Heart and was a Toastmaster. Bob loved woodworking and was a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity. He was known for giving his time in service to others. Above all else, Bob loved his family and his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lucille whom he married on June 6, 1959, daughters, Barbara Ann Stiefel, Christine Stiefel O’Neill (Golder) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Skyler O’Neill (partner Joy Floyd) of Prince William County, VA, Gabriel O’Neill of Winchester, VA; sisters-in-law, Marie Cronin of Bayside, NY and Angela Katherine La Monte of Tamarac, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Golder O’Neill, Skyler O’Neill, Gabriel O’Neill, Ron O’Neill, Paul Pinsdorf and Scott Parkes.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm with a Rosary to be said at 7pm at the Knights of Columbus service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen Vaccaro. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
