Robert Joseph “Bob” Kemp, 89, of Frederick County, VA passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Evergreen Health & Rehab.

Mr. Kemp was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Rubie and Hannah Kemp. He was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School in Brooklyn, NY and was a veteran of the United State Navy, having served during the Korean conflict, where he was a gunner on the USS Grand Canyon. Mr. Kemp was a dental equipment salesman before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mr. Kemp was a former member of Winchester Moose Lodge. He was an avid sports fan and loved all the New York teams.

He married Anna White on December 30, 1993 in Middleburg, VA.

Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Deborah Kemp (Stephen) of Philadelphia, PA; stepdaughters, Mary Boehm (Steven) of Charlotte, NC, Margaret Morrison (Jeff) of Newtown, PA, and Laura White (Chris) of Winchester, VA; stepson, Mark White of Lilburn, GA and Ed White (Susanna) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Hannah Lowe and Jason Miller; twelve step-grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Along with his parents Mr. Kemp is preceded in death by a son, Robert Joseph Kemp, Jr. (2022) and his first wife, Olive Kemp (1990).

A visitation will be from 12 pm to 1 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with a funeral mass to follow at 1 pm with Father Stephen Vaccaro officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
