Robert Hutson “Bob” Jett, Sr., age 79, of White Post, VA, passed away on April 14, 2026, at Blue Ridge Care Inpatient Care Center .

He was born on November 25, 1946, in Cheverly, MD, to the late Jack Lafonzo Jett and Pauline (Snellings) Jett. He was a high school graduate. Robert was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1971 to 1974 during the Vietnam era, achieving the rank of SGT. He was a self-employed Diesel Mechanic and retired in 2019 from Jett Truck & Equipment Repair. He was a gun collector and in his later years he enjoyed traveling.

Robert is survived by his wife, Concetta (Fazio) Jett, whom he married on December 17, 1978, in Baltimore County, MD, and his former wife, Clara Troyer of New Market, VA. He is also survived by his daughter, Christina Burkhart of White Post, VA; sons, Robert “Bobby” Jett, Jr. (Pamela) of Winchester, VA, Daniel “Danny” Jett (Lois) of New Market, VA; Albert Burkhart of Woodstock, VA; grandchildren, Cassandra, Heather, Robert “Trey”; great-grandchildren, Carly and Regan and brothers, Johnny Jett (Maureen) of Davidson, MD and George Jett of PA; sister-in-law, Sally Jett of Upper Marlboro, MD; numerous nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Lady and feline companion, Jasper.

Robert is preceded in death by his siblings, Ferdie, Jack, James, Patricia, Richard, William, Charles, and Ronald “Pete”.

A visitation will be held for Robert on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm and a service will be conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A committal service will be at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Strasburg. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at Laurel Hill Christian Church, 378 Laurel Hill Way, Lebanon Church, VA.
