Robert Eugene “Bob” Amick, Sr., 79, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Amick was born in 1939 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Landon and Kathryn Amick. He attended John Handley High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Amick was an electrician at Crown Cork and Seal, retiring after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. Mr. Amick had a great passion for his 1965 Mustang, was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, loved riding his motorcycle, enjoyed archery, and above all else he was an exceptional dancer. He enjoyed attending his grandson’s baseball games and family vacations.
Mr. Amick married Barbara Milburn on March 15, 1965 in Frederick County, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are sons, Robert E. Amick, Jr. (Debbie) of Winchester, Virginia, James W. Amick (Adriana) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, and Dwayne Amick (Anita) of Winchester, Virginia; and grandchildren, Elyk and Corey Amick of Winchester, Virginia and Juan Castiblanco Lopez of Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
Mr. Amick was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Amick.
A visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Deacon Jimmy Oates officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
