Robert ”Bob” E. Spaid
Robert “Bob” Emmert Spaid, 86, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, December 13, 2010, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Spaid was born in 1924, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late John and Clara L. Spaid, Sr. He was a retired parts manager with Chapman Motor Company serving for over 33 years and was a co-owner with his wife of 50 West Antiques for over 30 years. Mr. Spaid was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Golden Rule Sunday School Class and the Valley Glasshoppers of Winchester. Mr. Spaid was a graduate of Handley High School.
His wife, Jeanne Armel Spaid whom he married on June 23, 1946 in Winchester, Virginia, preceded him in death on January 19, 2009.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen M. Spaid, William “Bill” Spaid, both of Winchester and Gary lee Spaid of Crosby, Texas; three grandchildren, Tara Aycock , Stephanie Kinnison both of Winchester, and Todd Spaid of Crosby Texas; four great grandchildren; and one brother, Eldon Spaid of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
One sister, Genievieve Lewis and three brothers, Willard Spaid, Wison Spaid and Johnny Spaid, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend John Conner officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel
