Robert “Bob” Dubuque, 81, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at The Willows at Meadow Branch.
Mr. Dubuque was born in 1936 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the son of the late Arthur and Anita Dubuque. He graduated from Lebanon High School in New Hampshire and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Dubuque was Director of Budgets for the Military Sealift Command (Department of the Navy), retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean Conflict Era, where he was a Dental Technician Petty Officer 3rd Class (DT3). Mr. Dubuque was a lifetime member of the VFW, Winchester Moose Lodge 1283, Fraternal Order of the Eagles 821, Elks Lodge, American Legion, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was also a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mr. Dubuque married Betty Leighton Dubuque in 1975 in Fort Washington, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Toms.
Surviving with his beloved wife of 42 years is daughter, Sherry Ferris (Ron) of Montross, Virginia and stepdaughter, Delores Fry (Bruce) of Winchester, Virginia; stepsons, Larry Bayne (Ann) of Winchester, Virginia and Barry Bayne (Rhonda) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; grandchildren, Amanda Bourbeau of Stafford, Virginia, Sherry Morris (Shawn) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, David Smith (Aubreigh) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Amy Taylor (Chris) of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Erin Yoder (Matt) of Shenandoah, Virginia, Larry F. Bayne of Ashburn, Virginia, Robin Bayne of Winchester, Virginia, Brandon Bayne of Surprize, Arizona, and Ryan Bayne (Laura) of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Troy Hart (Shawna), and Natasha Lines (Rob); and thirty plus great grandchildren.
Mr. Dubuque was preceded in death by a son, Robert Stephen Dubuque, Jr., great grandson, Derek Smith, sister, Teresa Adams and brother, Rodney Dubuque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 120 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia with Father Brendan Bartlett officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, Virginia at 2:00 p.m. with Father Kevin Walsh officiating.
