Robert Bowen Dempster, 67 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
Robert was born in 1957 in Lansdale, PA, the son of the late Daniel Mortimer Dempster, Jr. and Leah Jane (Bowen) Dempster. He was a graduate of Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield, NJ. Robert was a Historical Restoration Carpenter and owner of Hometown Home Improvements in Stephens City, VA.
With a heart as big as his laugh, he leaves behind a treasure of memories that will forever remind us of his love, kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives.
An avid sports enthusiast, he found his joy on the golf course, swinging clubs as part of the Senior Golf League at Shenandoah Country Club. When he wasn’t on the golf course, you may find him coaching with enthusiasm. He also enjoyed the water – boating, fishing, and a good old-fashioned beach day.’ His love for vintage cars was matched by his passion for gardening and animals. Robert’s sociable spirit made him a beloved friend to many; he had an incredible knack for making everyone feel like family.
Most of all Robert loved and adored his family, his children, and his grandchildren. He is survived by his life partner of 12 years, Lynn Zahn, the mother of his children, Susan Cason, daughter, Mallory Ebrahemi (Josh) of Redondo Beach, CA, son, Douglas Dempster (Sherry) of Stephens City, VA, grandchildren, Ava Marie Dempster of Stephens City, Bryson Ebrahemi of Redondo Beach, CA, Jolie Ebrahemi of Redondo Beach, CA, sisters, Janet Crow (Phil) of Haymarket, VA, Barbara Schmoyer (Rico) of Round Hill, VA, Joan Wolford (Frank Shipp) and his brother, Daniel Mortimer “Bub” Dempster III (Debbie) of North Port, NY.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
