Richard Robert “Dick” Tylor, 89, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Westminster Canterbury.

Mr. Tylor was born in 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Henry and Helen Ruth Tylor. He was a retired Civil Engineer with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Tylor was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi – Epsilon Engineer Honor Societies, the American Society of Civil Engineers and The National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee achieving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Mr. Tylor was a Veteran having served in the United State Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Dola Virginia Schild, in 1949, in Okinawa, Japan.

He is survived by his wife of Winchester, Virginia.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday, at 2:00 at Westminster Canterbury with Chaplain Elizabeth Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, Tennessee.
