Richard “Ricky” Farmer
Richard Ray Farmer, 58, of Winchester, Virginia died Wednesday, April 27 in Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington, DC.
Mr. Farmer was born in 1952 in Falls Church, Virginia, the son of Ernest and Josephine Farmer. He worked in HVAC at Double F Heating and Air for over 40 years. Mr. Farmer was a former member of the Eagles. He was a Veteran having served as a Seaman First Class in the Navy.
Mr. Farmer married Ellen L. Farmer on January 3, 1990 in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with her wife is a stepdaughter, Heather McCormack, of Centreville, Virginia; a stepson, John McCormack, III, of Connecticut; three step-grandchildren; one adopted granddaughter; four sisters, Karen Burdette of New Market, Virginia, Joyce Reynard and her husband, Guy, of Winchester, Virginia; Michelle Krone and her husband, Rodney, of Hamilton, Virginia; Sherry van den Arend of Winchester, Virginia; two brothers, John Farmer and his wife, Pam, of Winchester, Virginia; Robert Farmer and his wife, Donna, of Berryville, Virginia; eleven nieces and nephews; nine step-nieces and step-nephews; three step-great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lee Farmer and Josephine Gertrude Selby Farmer, also a brother, Preston Farmer.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A celebration of Ricky’s life will be held on Tuesday, at 10 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A private gathering for family and close friends will follow services in a sister’s home.
