Richard Lee “Ricka Lee” Cooper, 74, of Berkeley County, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2022, at the Martinsburg Veteran Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Rick was born on May 23, 1948, in Leesburg, VA to Lucille and John William Cooper. He was a 1968 graduate of Loudoun County High School.
Following his high school graduation, Rick enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and obtained the rank of Specialist 4 during his Army career. After his discharge, Rick lived in Leesburg (Lucketts) and several years later he began his custom woodworking business, Rick’s Custom Cabinets. He operated his business for 43 years out of his home in Lucketts and later at his home in Berryville, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rebecca (Overstreet), and a brother, David William. His surviving family members include his son Glenn (Danette), granddaughter Annie, his brother Larry Cooper, and nephew Brandon Cooper (Theresa), two beloved Aunts, Edna Frye and Lorraine Loy, and many close cousins.
Ricky enjoyed hosting family and friends in his home over the years. He held many Halloween parties and family reunions in his Lucketts home. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and riding go-karts in his younger years, and card games with family in more recent years. His favorite place to travel was Atlantic City with his wife Becky. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, and playing pool. He could most often be seen driving around in his silver Mustang GT.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Lucketts Volunteer Fire Station.
