When I went into corrections, I was told that I could look out for Ricky as he had been there and would be someone that I knew. I just want to thank Ricky for being the presence that overlooked and saw our safety day after day. On his best days and days that were not his best, he spent his time overseeing all of his brothers and sisters and monitored countless individuals with one issue in mind… safety. Ricky will be missed and no one has ever run the facility the way that he did with the safety of Officers and people in mind. Thank you Ricky for what you did for us all. We love you and you will be greatly missed, Team 2

I met Rick on freshman move-in day at Bridgewater. I was greeted with a big smile and immediately regaled with an amazing yarn of his backstory told with his infectious confidence. He was a real one-of-a-kind and always kept life interesting on our dormitory hall. Every adventure and larger than life story always brought a smile to my face. You will be sorely missed, Rick, and my life is richer for having known your friendship and fellowship. Laura and girls, I am so very sorry for your loss.

To the one who made 3 a.m. fire watches feel like campfire storytelling… You were woven into the hardest chapters of my life, and still, still you found a way to light up the dark with humor, heart, and that one-of-a-kind magic only you could bring. You didn’t just show up. You showed us how to laugh, endure, and belong. The world feels dimmer without you. But your light? It’s etched in every memory, every sarcastic remark, and every moment we swore we'd never survive—and somehow did because you were there. Thank you for being part of my work family, in the deepest sense. We miss you. We carry you. We’ll keep the fire watch warm

RIck was a giver. He and Laura made some incredible memories for their girls. From international school trips to Christmas lights in the park, Rick's legacy will be the caring and generosity of spirit. He will be remembered as fully of adventure and whimsy from the Arnold Classic to fixing and old spa roof. I've never known anyone else to get the same smiles out of a Murder She Wrote marathon nor can I imagine a more giving and caring soul and role model.
