Richard Delano Jobe
Richard Delano Jobe, age 73, of Cross Junction, Virginia, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at his home.
Richard was born in 1937, in Brucetown, Virginia, the son of the late Frederick William and Elsie E. Jobe. He was the owner and operator of Jobe’s Construction, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Brucetown United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army.
Richard married Mary Ashwood on January 28, 1961 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Williams, Virginia.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Wayne Jobe and his wife, Jacqui of Clearbrook, and Richard “Rick” Jobe and his companion, Delsie Butts, of Clearbrook; three grandchildren, Miranda, Korbin, and Konnor Jobe; two step grandchildren, Travis and Brandon Jobe; five sisters, Anna Belle Collins, Connie Oates and husband, Gary, all of Winchester, Juanita Reid of Clearbrook, Peggy Marcus of Stephenson, and Mary Shenk and husband, Daniel of Cross Junction; three brothers, Donald Jobe and wife, Ann, Rodger Jobe and wife, Phyllis, all of Clearbrook, and Allen Jobe and wife, Velda, of Winchester; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Jobe of Clearbrook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
One brother, Frederick G. Jobe, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with the Reverend Robert Schoeman officiating. Interment will be in Brucetown United Methodist Church Cemetery, Brucetown, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
