Richard “Ricky” Daniel Cooke, 64, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Cooke was born in 1950, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Winfred A. and Janet L. Cooke. Ricky was also raised by his loving grandparents the late Richard and Lena DeHaven and was a ban saw operator for over 30 years at Northwestern Workshop in Winchester. He was an avid Elvis Presley and Washington Redskins fan and also enjoyed dancing, performing with a microphone and being with his family at his Beechcroft Ave. home.
Surviving is his sister, Diana Hyre (Thomas); brothers, Stephen G. Cooke and Charles A. Cooke; his aunts, Judy Kirby (George) and Gail
“Butch” Price (Dan); and he is also survived by his many loving cousins including Libby Pearson, Michelle Kremer and James Thomas Spence.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6-8pm, at the Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst St. Winchester.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be Private.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions in memory of Ricky may be made to the Shenandoah Valley Community Residence, 301 N. Cameron St. Suite 103, Winchester, VA 22601.
