Rebecca L. Stalcup
Rebecca L. Stalcup, 57, of Maurertown, VA, died Friday, December 26, 2014 while on vacation in Williamsburg, VA.
Rebecca was born in 1956 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Bonnie Koellner and the late Theodore Koellner. She graduated from the University of Akron, earning her Masters Degree in Labor Relations. Rebecca was a veteran of the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Captain. She was a contracts manager within the Aerospace/Defense Industry and small business owner of the “Country Clutter” store in Leesburg, VA. She fell in love with and moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2004. Rebecca was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown, VA and enjoyed serving her church, as well as leading Grace UMC’s participation in the MAMA (Middletown Area Meals Assistance) Program. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time in her garden and flower beds. When she was not serving the church or in her garden, Rebecca was a world traveler enjoying more than 20 international ocean and river cruises in the last 10 years to England, Europe, Italy, South America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, and Central America. She also enjoyed the love, company, and protection of her three dogs, Kylie, Rusty, and Ping.
Rebecca married Hal Stalcup on July 21, 1979 in Akron, Ohio and they enjoyed more than 36 wonderful years together.
Surviving with her mother and husband is a sister, Donelle Howland, Akron, Ohio.
Rebecca’s Memorial Service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on February 7, 2015 at 11AM.
