Raymond Lee Howard
Raymond Lee Howard, age 64, of Toms Brook, Virginia, died peacefully Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in his home.
Mr. Howard was born in 1945 in Hamtramck, Michigan, the son of the late Forest T. and Hazel Pearl Howard. He spent 20 years in the United States Army serving three tours in Vietnam, retiring in 1985 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. The next 20 years he worked as a computer specialist for the Department of the Army. For the last two years he worked for H & R Block as a tax preparation specialist. He attended Calvary Chapel Winchester and was active in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.
Raymond married Norma Dee Adams on October 8, 1994 in Manassas, Virginia.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Sandy Hart of Augusta, Georgia; four sons, Ted Matthew Howard and Jeremiyah Mullins, both of Manassas, Virginia, Ryan Mullins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Michael Mullins of Winchester, Virginia; a granddaughter, Joanna Hart; a sister, Stella Grace of Westland, Michigan; and a brother, James Howard and wife, Loretta of West Branch, Michigan. A sister, Delores Hall preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Calvary Chapel Winchester, with Pastor Ed Fife officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
